Unearthed: A Duet

mister norcal memories
Gathering her tumultuous memories
She wrapped them in silk and velvet
Cushioning them in comfort
With hopes, they would be soothed
Gently, she placed the bundle in a cardboard box
Which was then inserted into a trunk
Securely locked, one deed remained
Bury her burdens
An impending storm unearthed the contents
Revealing her soft vulnerable unhealed wounds
She knew they would eventually break free
No matter how securely she packed them away
Her tumultuous memories begin to heal
As each is held in the loving hands of her heart
Healed with the kiss of her affectionate love
They quietly put themselves back in the box
Watching them go slowly in the reverse of time
The storm has passed and the memories find peace
Her healed memories lay to rest leaving a key
She puts the trunk in the corner not to be buried
For she knows one day she will see them again
