Waiting on the wind

He was a leaf
Sitting on the edge of a cliff
Between wanting to rest
And needing to explore
Simply going through the motions in life
Or living it in harmony with his soul
He wanted to make someone else
Responsible for his decision
If things went awry
He wanted to be able to place blame
Wind refused assistance
Wise to wait
Sitting still
The leaf would become stagnant and whither
To know peace within
It meant change
He called to the wind
I have decided
Help me to fly
Wind embraced him
Advising him of the reality
The journey will be difficult at times
You will feel tattered and worn
But keep faith
I will always lift you up

Excellent parable about the necessity to take chances to be truly alive. Loved the leaf, loved the wind, loved this poem. Thanks, Mosk

Good day to you Mosk. πŸ™‚ Chances are necessary, you’re right. Thank you again for your kind comments. Did you get my message on site or here that I loved what you wrote for the picture you used? It meant a lot to me and I wanted you to know.

That comment held more meaning then you can know. I use a phone to take pictures as my hand are affected by Lyme disease, and I can manage with a phone on good days. Thank you for kindness. I am humbled and honored you used the pic. Have an amazing day and thank you for touching mine.

This is a masterpiece of messaging, a lovely moral woven between the lines. I adore the personification of the leaf and it’s quandary, to fly on or remain stagnant. A brilliant piece of poetry Belinda, well done! xx
